What does NELIYI offer?
NELYI holds a series of workshops through the year, given by experienced teachers from all over the country. They are held about once a month, usually at weekends, and vary in theme and level of yoga experience required, ranging from events suitable for all students, including beginners, to those for more experienced students and teachers. They provide an opportunity to experience different styles and approaches to Iyengar yoga in either half-day or all-day sessions, as well to meet other students. NELIYI workshops are usually held at the Harringay Club, 50 Tottenham Lane, N8 7EE, opposite Hornsey Railway Station, and on local bus routes (see map). NELYI also publishes a quarterly newsletter, NELIYI News, which provides a forum for the North London yoga community and invites articles from yoga students and teachers about Iyengar yoga events, yoga philosophy or reflections on personal experiences of yoga training and practice. NELIYI has long-term plans for premises to provide a base in North London for Iyengar yoga, and to ensure it is affordable and accessible. It awards occasional bursaries to support yoga study, holds a small library of yoga magazines and videos and is building up a stock of yoga equipment.
