Yoga Day with Senior teacher Bobby Clennell

Sunday, 25th May 2014 at 10am - 4pm

Location: Eden Primary School, 79 Creighton Avenue, London N10 1NR

This event is in the past.

We are very fortunate to have a full day workshop with Bobby Clennell, who has been a direct student of B.K.S. Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar and has been teaching Iyengar yoga for 40 years. Bobby is a core faculty member at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York, so we are delighted that she is finding some time for NELIYI during her visit to the UK.

Author and illustrator of The Woman's Yoga Book and a children's yoga book, Watch Me Do Yoga, Bobby’s teaching style is strong, energetic, precise and kind. She is also the creator of “Yoga Yantra”, a short animated film, based on the movements of B.K.S. Iyengar during his own yoga practice. For more information:

This 5 hour workshop is devoted entirely to women and will focus on women's practice; however, all are very welcome to attend.

The Menstrual Cycle: We will learn how to develop a cyclically responsive practice that moves us through us the ups and downs of the month, promotes vibrant good health and boosts fertility.

Menopause and Post Menopause: Menopause is a critical period of adjustment. Just as physical and psychological disturbances occur when menstruation begins, you have to face them again at menopause. Learn to navigate through this transition with a practice that calms the nerves, brings emotional balance and deals with some of the common symptoms that women experience such as hot flashes, insomnia, fatigue and anxiety.

We will also explore the challenges and rewards of the post-menopausal phase. Issues covered include weakness, stiffness, joint problems and loss of confidence.

Advance booking is strongly advised for this workshop.

Travelling to the venue: please note that due to the high level of bookings, this workshop has been relocated to the Eden Primary School, 79 Creighton Avenue, London, N10 1NR.
The venue is close to bus routes 263, 234, 102, 43, 134, 299 and 603. Nearest tube is East Finchley, approx 10 minutes walk away. Free on-street parking is available.

What to bring: Your own equipment, including blankets, bolster and chair if possible. There will be some equipment on the day. Tea and coffee will be provided. Food eaten on the premises must be vegetarian and eaten on large napkins. Cafes are 10 minutes walk to the High Street.

If you have any queries about the workshop, or wish to book offline, please email (, or contact her at 07770419671.
